Forward Nod

If you hang out with me and we talk about transportation, I’ll usually mention the benefits of the “forward nod.” I’ve been wanting to do a comic about it - sort of like an advertisement. And here it is. This was surprising difficult (I sketched this out a month ago, and then canned it because it sucked). And the drawings are terrible. But, in the end, I think it does an okay job conveying the purpose of the forward nod. I hope you implement in your driving/riding routine. It’s kind of like crossing the street as a pedestrian and giving a little wave of acknowledgment to the cars that stop for you. Except it’s a nod. It also works when passing people on the sidewalk who you don’t want to look at; or when you’re driving but you don’t want to turn your neck; &c.
Also, the bicyclist on the left is my attempt at “generic portland bicyclist.” I see one guy that looks like that per day. Blank stare, mouth agape, beard, fixie.
