If you hang out with me and we talk about transportation, I’ll usually mention the benefits of the “forward nod.” I’ve been wanting to do a comic about it – sort of like an advertisement. And here it is. This was surprising difficult (I sketched this out a month ago, and then canned it because it sucked). And the drawings are terrible. But, in the end, I think it does an okay job conveying the purpose of the forward nod. I hope you implement in your driving/riding routine. It’s kind of like crossing the street as a pedestrian and giving a little wave of acknowledgment to the cars that stop for you. Except it’s a nod. It also works when passing people on the sidewalk who you don’t want to look at; or when you’re driving but you don’t want to turn your neck; &c.
Also, the bicyclist on the left is my attempt at “generic portland bicyclist.” I see one guy that looks like that per day. Blank stare, mouth agape, beard, fixie.

The PSU student newspaper, the Daily Vanguard, published an article today about the ping pong club. It’s mostly about last saturday’s tournament.
In conclusion, the club is awesome. And you can see me toward the back in this picture, playing a game of doubles. In the paper version of this story two pictures were used, neither of which were the one from the web.
Update: and then today the Oregonian ran a story about the pinball map site.
Here’s some Lost, the tv show, fan art I made. It’s a picture frame.
Umbra makes “doodlebook” frames. This first doodle is Lost fan art.
